Review for Nikon 8-24X25Cf Zoom Travelite V Binoculars with Case:
They have replaced my Pentax 8x21's as my go everywhere bino's, they are excellent for bird watching, aeroplane spotting and general `viewing'. Certainly light enough to take anywhere and OK for spectacle wearers too. They can also be used for astronomy at a push but, and here's the one caveat with them, at anything more than 10x power you do need help to hold them steady, a wall, table or even a broom, but you will need something as the FOV at the higher mags is very small indeed. I haven't done the math but suspect that while the FOV at 8x is 4.6 degrees it drops down to 1 degree or perhaps less at the higher mags.
All round though a first rate pair of bino's.

SURPRISINGLY VERSATILE
For a small, lightweight item these binoculars are very good indeed. The view is clear and bright although it does darken a little at the very highest magnification, that's only to be expected when you consider the size of the objectives. They are supplied with a carry cord and a material case which has a strong looking belt loop. They have replaced my Pentax 8x21's as my go everywhere bino's, they are excellent for bird watching, aeroplane spotting and general `viewing'. Fantastic buy!
I could not rate these binoculars highly enough. Much better than any pair I have owned before and quite light and easy to handle for their size.6
Review for Nikon Monarch ATB 8x42 Waterproof Binocular:
They remain sharp and in focus all around the image, and the view stays bright enough in all daylight conditions. They are lightweight and easy to grip. I'm a fair weather birdwatcher and so haven't put the waterproof claim to the test, but I've got no cause to doubt it. They look very well sealed.
The soft fabric case isn't particularly user friendly, because as soon as you take the glasses out, you can't wear the case around your neck and need somewhere else to put it. I also don't like the object lens covers very much.
However, my quibbles are really only minor issues. These are high quality binoculars and I do not expect to need to replace them at any time in the future. Very satisfied and highly recommended.

Fiddly but worth it
Bought last year from amazon.com in the USA for a bargain price (when the pound was strong against the dollar). They've taken a long while to set up to my satisfaction, which is mostly my own fault, but partly because the diopter ring on the right eyepiece is a bit stiff. That's not necessarily such a bad thing in a pair or binoculars. They remain sharp and in focus all around the image, and the view stays bright enough in all daylight conditions. Pro Quality Binoculars
I have watched birds for 33 years and owned several pairs of binoculars of various makes and seen dozens of good ones, but I had never seen any as good as these. The picture is bright and clear as it usually is in the modern high-grade/high-definition binoculars, but in the Nikon it is also sharp to the very edge of the picture and w/o any chromatic aberration. Normally the edges are more or less blurred and CA is quite common. Also the focusing is very fast, much faster than in any other binoculars that I have seen, only 90 degree turn of the knob from a Robin in few meters to the Buzzards in the clouds. No pre-focusing is needed. There is no slack in the rotation. I have found the Nikon HG 10x42s as an excellent choice for a serious bird watcher.11

I was bought these for christmas, to aid me in my job! They're are truelly fantastic with a really sharp crisp picture and fast and smooth zoom! The tripod adapter is useful for when looking over long distances and at high zoom! Well worth the price can't think of any better binoculars!12
Review for Nikon Coolpix P80 Digital Camera - Black (10.0MP, 18x Optical Zoom) 2.7 inch LCD:
I just returned from a three-week trip to Italy, Holland, and London, and I found my Nikon P80 to be easy to manage, after several readings of the manual. Not too small, the P80 fits comfortably into my hands and does not wobble as the smaller cameras tend to do. Although I do miss taking splendid photos with my 1974 Rollei SLR with the three lenses and polarizer, I do not miss the weight, the limitations of rolls of film, and the encumbrances of all the accompanying paraphernalia.
I especially like the P80 because it is inconspicuous, and one can get candid shots of street life without being intrusive. The easily managed diopter allowed me to use the viewfinder without my glasses. The monitor made it easy to view photos quickly; and the battery charger worked splendidly (I took two Nikon batteries, and charged one every night.). I was also pleasantly surprised at the macro feature which allowed me to copy family photos from my brother-in-law's album, which were taken in the 1940s and '50s.
As other reviewers have suggested, reading the manual is indispensable, but one ought not to be tied to it. For instance, I discovered that in the northern latitudes with their bright autumn light, so beloved by the Dutch painters, the"sunset" setting worked better than the automatic, or even the plain"landscape" settings (I didn't care much for the automatic setting which tended to over-expose the pictures). I also experimented using the shutter and aperture priorities; took night pictures that were eventually successful, and discovered the video option, getting some fantastic shots of the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace (As I discovered when I downloaded the photos onto my computer--a painless process--the sound of the guards' commands and their marching feet, as well as the clip-clop of the horses' hooves, comes through loud and clear. Unfortunately, so does the yak-yak of the surrounding tourists!). Not knowing how much memory I would be using, I took two 4G memory cards and shot 1800 pictures and 31 short videos, which improved remarkably during the second week, as I was getting used to the intricacies of the camera (and was recovering from jet-lag). As a result, I have a thorough documentation of my trip, which I wouldn't have gotten with a cumbersome SLR.
My only criticism of the camera is that when using the 18mm wide angle setting, buildings tend to collapse in on each other. I found that I could compensate for this by using the 28 mm. setting.
Although for the next trip, I might invest in a real DSLR (with a polarizing lens), the Nikon P80 was perfect for what proved to be whirlwind tour of Europe. And any lapses in color or light and shadow, I have been able to correct with Adobe CS3.

a bit heavy and tough
Its water and fog proof abilities are really perfect. I use it for bird watching sometimes under heavy rain and no problem at all. But in compare with my other model it is considerably heavier and the focusing aparatus is tougher to adjust. Also front caps are not that well designed they consist of two seperate pieces which you may easily fall and lose. The optical quality is OK15

I visited WHICH to find out what they recommended as there are so many bewildering choices for binoculars! Then I shopped around for price on the internet and found what I wanted on Amazon. I feel I can trust their service; they are always efficient. The binoculars arrived in two days, very well packaged. Really pleased.17
